'Manjha' is a coating applied on cotton thread used in international competitions to cut the opponent's kite. Internationally, all fighter kite competitors use their own secret formulation for manjha which each one claims to be the best. However, as a retired fighter kite champion and spending years of logical research and money to derive a perfect formulation and analyzing the formulations of several international champions, I have decided to expose the dark secrets revolving around the sport of fighter kite tournaments. I have travelled across the world and have been closely involved in providing advice and tips to several fighter kite champions from around the world in developing a manjha formulation which is being used internationally by most of the well known champions whose names I do not want to mention for sheer respect of their privacy. My keen interest in this sport and in order to encourage this dying game of fighter kite tournaments has made me want to post all posible information on making manjha.
During all these years of participating in fighter kite tournaments across the world, I have personally seen so many disappointed youngsters who have left this sport due to sheer disappointment of not being able to achieve a right manjha formula. In India, I have seen that many youngsters consider it a matter of prestige and pride to have a good manjha while flying fighter kites for fun as well as tournaments. Due to limited on no access to the right educated guidance on how to prepare a good manjha, many youngsters resort to buying manjha thread from kite dealers which are of substandard quality. The manjha from Bareilly in India is considered good across the world, but only for recreational purposes and not for competition use. I have seen many of my Pakistani, Afghan, Indian and European friends try this thread but only to be disappointed at the end. Basic reason, it is a commercialized 'mass-market' product that cannot meet the demands of professional fighter kite competition players.
To encourage youngsters to participate in this sport which does involve a lot of time and effort (fortunately, the best of manjha formulation does not require a lot of money to be spent in preparing as many amateur competitors believe that using exotic and expensive materials is better, which is not so) in making their own manjha, I am here to provide eager participants with guidance on what they need to know.
In the past, I have received several posts requesting for manjha formulations which I have deleted due to the secrecy surrounding this topic and hence apologize for not being able to post answers to your queries on this public forum. Please e-mail me in future with all your details for the sake of your own privacy and I will be more than happy to answer your questions.
My e-mail address is manjha.fighter@gmail.com and I will try my best to answer your questions within 24 hours considering the global time difference. My local time is GMT -05:00 which would be a reason for a delayed, but sureshot reply.
Thanks and welcome to this forum. Keep this amazing sport alive.
